Vestibuloplasty
If Dr. Reynolds has determined that the patient has insufficient space between the cheek or lips and the gums, an option that is available to the patient is a vestibuloplasty. A vestibuloplasty procedure involves the creation of more height and/or depth in the patients’ gums and is typically conducted to prepare for dental implants or a denture for the patient. A lack of or loss of vestibular depth can create problems with the patients’ ability to retain their denture in their mouth and can cause discomfort and instability with the denture.
If you are considering an implant supported denture but have limited space to retain a denture, contact Reynolds Oral & Facial Surgery to learn more about a vestibuloplasty.
