Gingivectomy
When a patient has excessive gum tissue surrounding the teeth, Dr. Reynolds may perform a Gingivectomy. A gingivectomy is simply the removal of excess gum tissue around and in between the teeth to provide a new, healthy gum line for the patient. The procedure is minimally invasive and is typically performed using only local anesthesia. Patients may opt to have a gingivectomy for aesthetic purposes only or because of difficulty with maintaining a clean mouth due to gaps formed between the teeth and gums.
