A. 45 year old carious wisdom teeth; although she has no other active caries, every single wisdom tooth has caries. It is difficult to take care of wisdom teeth because they are so far back in the mouth. So even a person with good oral hygiene has difficulty maintaining wisdom teeth in a healthy condition. Again it is much more difficult to extract these wisdom teeth now that the patient is over the age of 25.
