To provide you with a better understanding of dental implants, we have provided the following multimedia presentation. Many common questions pertaining to dental implants are discussed.
Dental Implants are the most predictable and natural form of tooth replacement. Dental implants are changing the way people live. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth which look, feel and function like natural teeth.
Loss of teeth results in loss of bone over time. Replacing missing teeth with implants preserves the bone.
Dental implants are small titanium posts, which are inserted into the jawbone where teeth are missing. These metal anchors act as tooth root substitutes. The bone stabilizes the tooth and the presence of a healthy tooth maintains the bone.
To provide you with a better understanding of wisdom teeth, we have provided the following multimedia presentation. Many common questions pertaining to wisdom teeth are discussed.
Why Should I Have My Wisdom Teeth Removed? Wisdom teeth are the last teeth to erupt within the mouth. When they align properly and gum tissue is healthy, wisdom teeth do not have to be removed. Unfortunately, this does not generally happen.
The extraction of wisdom teeth is necessary when they are prevented from properly erupting within the mouth. These poorly positioned impacted teeth can cause many problems. Removal of the offending impacted teeth usually resolves these problems.
Early wisdom teeth removal is recommended to avoid such future problems and to decrease the surgical risk involved with the procedure.
Studies have shown that early evaluation and treatment of wisdom teeth result in a superior outcome for the patient. Patients are generally first evaluated in the mid-teenage years by their dentist, orthodontist or by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.
The most common skin complaint is wrinkles, although acne, blemishes and age spots are close behind. Two factors are involved in wrinkling of the skin are environmental factors such as sun, and age. Dr Reynolds treats sun-damaged skin, facial wrinkles and scars in a procedure called laser skin resurfacing. Another treatment, Chemical Peel is helpful for wrinkles, light acne scarring and irregular pigmentation such as freckles and age spots. For optimal results, Dr Reynolds provides surgical options such as facelift, liposuction, blepharoplasty and brow lift.
